TASC is a student-run conference that equips students from the U.S. and Taiwan with the resources & opportunities they need to become the global leaders of tomorrow. The conference is conducted in English. Here's what we believe in.
Our mission is to build and strengthen student-to-student ties between the United States and Taiwan. In doing so, we hope to create a new U.S-Taiwan social narrative for our generation. American delegates arrive in Taiwan: July 26
Full delegation orientation: July 27 Conference: July 27 - August 16, 2016* (Total: 3 weeks) *American delegates should note a 12 hour time difference between the United States (EST) and Taiwan. Dates are subject to change. Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Taitung. Here's what you can expect from our 21-day adventure through Taiwan.*
July 27: American delegates arrive in Taipei July 27 - 30: Leadership Orientation During this intensive two-day orientation, delegates will acquire the tools needed to make TASC a meaningful experience for themselves and their fellow delegates. Elements such as teamwork, leadership, community organizing, and cross-cultural work will be emphasized. July 31: Opening Ceremony July 31 - August 5: Taipei Students will explore the economic, political, and cultural center of Taipei through site visits and speakers. August 6 - 8: Taichung The Budokan Martial Arts Hall, aboriginal tribes, and the Townway Cultural and Creative Corporation are among the sites that will introduce delegates to the diverse culture and history in Taiwan. August 8 - 10: Tainan The oldest city in Taiwan, Tainan provides delegates an opportunity to explore local traditions and other historical monuments. August 10-13: Taitung August 13-16: Taipei Delegates will return to Taipei for the final forum, closing ceremony, and 2016 EC elections. August 14: Final Forum Preparation Day August 15: Final Forum and Closing Ceremony At the final forum, delegates will present project proposals for issues affecting Taiwan and the United States today. August 16: EC Elections for 2016, Final Reflection *Itinerary subject to change. |
