Tina WangNational Taiwan University
Taiwanese Chair Tina is a junior in the department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at National Taiwan University, where she majors in both French and Spanish. She is also in the Chinese-English Translation and Interpretation Program. Having great passion for international activities, Tina has participated in the Budapest International Model United Nations as a delegate, the Asian Student Exchange Program as the president, and was also the main representative of Kaohsiung Girls' Senior High School during the cultural exchange with Calamvale Community College in Australia.
Tina had spent three years living in Oklahoma as a child. Upon returning to Taiwan, she had difficulties adjusting to Taiwanese values as she often found herself comparing them to those in America. Now, she has long gotten used to life back home, with a clearer understanding of both pros and cons in both cultures, and has definitely developed an appreciation of her own. As such, she has since been interested in the cultural differences between Taiwan and America. As a participant in TASC 2018, she had developed close friendships with her fellow Taiwanese and American delegates. This had given her the confidence in being a part of the people to people mission and global community dialogue that comes from student to student conferences. After TASC 2019, she plans on going for a student exchange in Spain, joining world volunteer affairs, and signing up as a student ambassador at her university. Other things she swears to do as well is losing weight and getting more sleep though she suspects them to be significantly more difficult. |
