Hong-En graduated this May with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Born as a first-generation American, her life has been an adventure of balancing rich Eastern traditions with the cultural landscape of the West. She hopes TASC will foster cross-cultural understanding, encourage innovation, and advance global collaborations. As an undergraduate student, Hong-En researched therapeutic drugs that target cancer stem cells. She also explored the synthesis of earth-abundant materials for renewable energy applications. Hong-En was the outreach coordinator of Energy Hub, an organization that brings together students from diverse disciplines who are all passionate about energy. She is currently working at the Wisconsin Public Utility Institute. In her spare time, Hong-En enjoys teaching and playing piano, ultimate Frisbee, photography, and salsa dancing.
