Taiwan-America Student Conference

Sign up for updates

If the 21st century belongs to Asia ...

... then Taiwan-America Student Conference is the best opportunity to experience one of its most dynamic societies — Taiwan:
  • the only Chinese-speaking democracy in the world
  • the first in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage
  • a leader in the global high-tech industry
Taiwan and the U.S. hold a longstanding friendship founded on shared values of democracy, human rights, and freedom. The two countries also face some of the same big questions concerning our world today: How do we tackle vast, generational income inequality? How do we explain and reconcile growing divisions between ethnicity, race, and class? What should be done about ‘fake news’?
Through cross-cultural collaboration between top students from Taiwan and the U.S., the Taiwan-America Student Conference seeks to address these pressing issues in a way that gives students from both countries an opportunity to reflect on their home country through the lens of Taiwan’s unique culture, people, and political landscape.

Core Features of Our Conference

Taiwan-America Student Conference is an intensive two-week conference that accepts 15 student delegates from the U.S. and Taiwan. Below are just a smattering of activities that delegates take part in as they travel around island.
