< Update >
After careful consideration, the TASC 2022 Executive Committee has officially decided to hold this year’s conference in a virtual format. It was all of our hope that we could finally gather in-person in Taiwan, however, due to ongoing quarantine and travel restrictions - we collectively decided that holding TASC 2022 virtually is our best guarantee to ensure everyone has reachable access to this conference, can enjoy this experience, and learn in the safest manner possible. We didn’t make this decision lightly, and we sincerely hope all of you understand and continue your commitment to TASC. We apologize for any inconvenience.

FAQs
To help you decide if TASC is for you, here are answers to some common questions that applicants have.
1. Can I fit TASC into my summer plans if I also want to do an internship or summer job?
We have had alumni who've done summer jobs or internships before TASC. However, you may have to negotiate an earlier job/internship end-date with your employer.
2. Do I need to be able to speak Chinese to attend this conference?
You don't need to know Chinese, as the conference is run entirely in English. However, we encourage delegates who speak Chinese to practice it during down time!
3. What's the difference between TASC and a Chinese language program/study abroad program in Taiwan?
TASC is different from most other programs in that the focus is on public diplomacy and people-to-people exchange. You will not be sitting in classrooms most of the time, isolated from society at large. Instead, you will immerse yourselves in local culture and learn from leaders in business and politics, environmental protection and cultural preservation, etc., while discussing important issues with a cohort of 30 student leaders from both countries.
4. I'm learning Chinese. Can I practice Chinese at TASC?
While the conference is run in English, we focus on people-to-people exchange, so there will be plenty of opportunities for you to learn authentic, up-to-date Chinese from Taiwanese delegates. You'll be sure to walk away with common slang expressions, but also other language that you wouldn't find in a textbook. This is not to mention the fact that you'll walk away from the conference with 15 new Taiwanese friends, who will populate your social media feed with plenty of authentic Chinese-language content!
5. Where can I find out about past conferences?
Check out the "Program" tab to see past speakers and activities. Feel free to also journey through the 2019 conference, 2016 conference, and
2014 conference!
6. Can I receive school credit for attending TASC?
Contact us if you are interested in receiving college credit for attending the conference.
7. Are scholarships or financial aid available?
Need-based financial aid is available and can be applied to upon acceptance to the conference.
