TASC seeks a diverse delegation that represents a cross-section of the United States' and Taiwan's accomplished student population. Full-time university students are strongly encouraged to apply. No previous experience with Asian Studies or the Chinese language is required as the Conference welcomes students from all fields of study and is conducted in English. TASC does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, age, religion, marital status or sexual orientation.

eligibility


  1. Student status *
    • Citizen of Taiwan currently attending or recently graduated (winter 2013 or spring 2014) from a four-year university or graduate school OR
    • International student currently attending or recently graduated (winter 2013 or spring 2014) from a four-year university or graduate school in Taiwan
2.      Have a passport or the ability to acquire one before the     
          beginning of the program if not currently residing in Taiwan

3.      Ability to converse in English, as the entire program will be 
          conducted in English

The application process consists of two parts. After submission of a general application, qualified individuals will then be informed for a  final round video conference interview . The completed application is due March 9, 2014. Apply by February 16, 2014 and have your application fee waived!    

Part   one

1. Download and fill out the application form.*
*The application form can only be saved with Adobe Reader 9 or a newer version.
2. Send an email, attached with the application form, to tasc.recruit.tw@gmail.com. E-mail title:
Application_Your Chinese Name. (Ex: Application_林小美).                                                            3. Submit a NT$300 application fee if you are applying later than the early deadline (2/16). Please pay the application fee through Blink wallet (http://ppt.cc/6e8W).
You will receive a confirmation email within 3 days.                     NOTICE: Applications will not be reviewed until fee is paid.

part   two

1. Finalist results will be informed via e-mail by March 13th and will attend a video interview between March 17th~20th.

2. Final results will be released on March 24th.

NT$20000*

It is thanks to our gracious sponsors that Taiwan-America Students Conference is able to keep the program cost as low as possible to lessen the financial burden for participants.

 Accepted applicants will have the option to apply for financial aid of up to NT$10000. Please see below, “FINANCIAL AID”, for further information. 

*This fee covers the following:
  • 1 Day Orientation
  • Full Conference Cost: Room, board, travel, admissions to sites, all mandatory events    


We only ask that you pay for the transportation costs to the orientation site and from the end site.

  LTTC-GEPT SCHOLARSHIP FOR TASC

There are a limited number of LTTC-GEPT Scholarship for TASC that will be awarded to the most qualified applicants and/or those with the most demonstrated need. Scholarships will cover up to NTD$10,000 of the NTD$20,000 registration fee. All scholarship applications will be carefully and independently reviewed, evaluated, and voted upon by LTTC committee and members of the Taiwanese Executive Committee. Recipients are required to submit the following documents:

1. A scholarship application. 
2. A Transcript for All Semesters from your current school
3. A Verification of Class Ranking for All Semesters from your current school.
4. A statement of consenting to provide information for LTTC to evaluate the scholarship during the process. (in Mandarin)
5. A GEPT High-Intermediate certification

Process of for LTTC-GEPT Scholarship for TASC application:
1. The scholarship application package will be available and attached to your acceptance letter (March 24). Please complete and return it by March 28th. 
2. TASC will inform you of the result of your scholarship application on April 2nd.
