Lucas KuoGeorge Washington University '16
American Chair Fremont, California Lucas is a senior majoring in international affairs with an Asia concentration. As an American born to first-generation Taiwanese immigrants who came to the United States in search of opportunity, Lucas saw a chance to reconnect with an important part of his identity at TASC 2015 and better understand how the young generation in Taiwan perceives the world that we share in our dual roles as responsible global citizens and its humble custodians. He strongly believes in the importance of promoting cross-cultural exchange as we adapt to an increasingly globalized and networked future. His time in Washington DC has allowed him to consider the broader dynamics in East Asia both in his academic and professional pursuits. Lucas has interned at the US Department of State for the US Embassy in Beijing and US Consulate General in Guangzhou. In his free time, he enjoys reading and watching VICE news documentaries.
