Pat Farrell

Internal Head (US), Board of Directors
2015 American Executive Committee, 2014 US Delegate
University of Pittsburgh '15
BS Economics; BA Chinese and Political Science

Pat hails from Summerfield, North Carolina and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with degrees in economics, Chinese, and political science. He currently works in government relations in Yangon, Myanmar. He previously worked for a think tank in Washington, DC, and at New York University as a researcher in economics. Prior to completing his undergraduate degree he studied and worked in China and Taiwan for two years, earning a certificate in business from Fudan University in Shanghai, China, and interning at the American Institute in Taiwan.

Why TASC?

I joined TASC a year after interning for a summer at the American Institute in Taiwan, the de facto U.S. Embassy in Taipei. I wanted to do more to help promote awareness of Taiwan to American students, many of whom (like me before I went to Taiwan) might study Chinese but not really know much about Taiwan. I hope that TASC can continue to serve a valuable role as a way to get more Americans to visit Taiwan, and to promote engagement between young Taiwanese and young Americans.
