Jerome SiangcoCollege of the Holy Cross
American Vice Chair Renton, Washington Jerome is a sophomore double majoring in Asian Studies and Global Health, with a minor in Chinese. As a TASC 2016 American Delegate, Jerome saw the conference as an opportunity to network overseas and gain a better understanding of US-Taiwan relations. It provided Jerome with an opportunity to better his cross-cultural communications and his understanding of the impact globalization has had on the world. Through TASC 2016, Jerome was able to conduct research into the topic of cultural conflict and identity, from which misconceptions were corrected and cultural customs were shared. Jerome believes that everyone is a part of a global community and it is up to each individual to discover their own role. Moving forward Jerome plans to analyze health care systems in Asia and see how culture and community play a role in health administration. Jerome has interned at Shree Prannath Hospital, Surat, India and currently interns for the Donelan Office of Community Based Learning, College of the Holy Cross.
