Michelle Lam

University of Wisconsin-Madison
Finance Chair
Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Michelle is a Junior studying International Studies with a minor in Chinese at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Born in Hong Kong, but raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin since the age of five, she has always had an interest in Asia-Pacific Affairs. When first entering her college career, it was her goal to become a doctor, however, Michelle always had doubts about her intended path.  Attending TASC caused her to realize her love for cross-cultural communication and dedication towards International Affairs. While it is unfortunate Taiwan is commonly overshadowed by Chinese politics, TASC was a great opportunity to understand the history, culture, and status of Taiwan in the global community. TASC played an important part in shaping her identity and future goals. Recognizing the powerful impacts, citizen-citizen exchanges contain, she believes TASC serves as a mechanism for mutual understanding and global peace. Michelle is currently working as a Research Assistant at the Well-Being Study at UW-Madison and also interning at the District Office of Mark Pocan.
