American Marketing Director Paola Solis is a junior at The Cooper Union’s School of Art in New York City where she is specializing in computer graphics and print media. Additionally, through the university’s interdisciplinary Fine Arts program she has been able to cultivate her skills across several different mediums, granting her added versatility and imagination in the contents of her work. Outside of her art studio, you can likely find Paola enjoying various television series, playing video games, or combing through the works of other artists like herself.
Due chiefly to her experiences growing up as a Peruvian-American in Queens, New York, Paola’s subjects pivot on social and cultural themes relating to personal identity and existential growth—issues she seeks to better understand within the context of her own life. Using naturalistic imagery, typography, and illustration as key instruments, she strives to create new opportunities for human connection and discussion via the avenue of visual design. Her dream is to return someday to her hometown and establish a youth arts program that will ultimately champion the diverse perspectives of those who make up the multicultural community that once helped foster her upbringing. |
